A new day, a new year

Iris welcomed 2012 in her neighborhood in Alameda. After a busy holiday with family and friends she celebrated the new year on East Coast time at home. Santa was good to the whole family especially Iris. The best gift was time with Grammy JoJo, Grandpa Lou, and Uncle Tommy. After a very busy year we were thankful for the restful time at the Rasera house.
Iris is thriving now. She is walking quickly and exploring everything. She is speaking a few words in English, Spanish and sign language. She says "Hola!" for her greeting. (We thought she was saying Hi Ya! but realized nobody says that to her). She signs "more", "please", "finished", and "milk". She speaks "momma", "poppa", " baby", "night night", "thank you",  and "bye" (which oddly she says with a southern drawl so it sounds like Baa). She understands many, many other words in English and Spanish and is starting to add words to her vocabulary more quickly.

Iris continues to be a blessing to us and Alisa and I learn from her daily.
As usual you can see her photos by clicking here
